After the sentence of scouring has been carried out and after the spite
of the soldiers, Jesus is taken back to Pilate, while the crowd is incident
by the Pharisses.
The chapel dates as a building from the times of Gaudenzio Ferrari (early 16th
cen.). Subsequently it was incorporated into the so-called "Pilate's Palace",
built at St. Charles Borromeo's wish and planned by Tebaldo Pellegrini (16th
cen.).It was begun in 1590 and completed in 1660. Frescoes by P. F. Gianoli
(17th cen.).Statues of Christ by an unknown artist; the other statues by Giacomo
Ferro (17th cen.).
